Day 24 · Week 04 · Advanced Motifs & Calculation Hygiene
Interference, Clearance, Zwischenzug
Teach three advanced move-order ideas that change lines and sequences.
Interference blocks a critical connection. Clearance vacates a square or line so another piece can use it. Zwischenzug inserts a stronger move before the expected recapture. All three punish automatic thinking.
Move order is the center of today's lesson. The same final tactic may fail if the preparatory move is played in the wrong order.
Training flow: 1. Line-connection map. 2. Clearance-square demonstration. 3. Recapture discipline drill: 'before recapturing, scan checks/captures/threats.' 4. Mixed move-order puzzles. 5. Defensive move-order exercise.
Common errors: Automatic recapture. Clearing the wrong square. Blocking your own attacker. Missing opponent zwischenzug.
Mastery gate: 7/8 correct with exact move order on every combination.
Review: Add 'zwischenzug before recapture?' to the blunder-check routine.
